'Cancel Thanksgiving' Francesca Hong Says All Her Opponent Talks About Is Culture Wars

Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate and Democratic Socialist Francesca Wong served up a word salad to a constituent who was concerned about boys being allowed in girls' locker rooms. Wong replied that it was funny that no one was concerned about male sports reporters in women's locker rooms before pivoting to another topic. Her Republican opponent, Tom Tiffany, posted video of her response, and Hong clapped back by saying that all Tiffany talks about is culture wars. This is from the woman who wanted to cancel Thanksgiving, abolish the Senate and the police, and appeared at the site where a knife-wielding career criminal was shot by police and immediately called it an "execution." She's also the one who worried that her "proximity to whiteness" through her half-white son made her insensitive to the needs of marginalized communities.

Our movement? Does she mean the Democratic Socialists of America?

But now she says she loves Thanksgiving and, in fact, it's her favorite holiday. Plus, she told Fox News she doesn't want to abolish the Senate "at this time," after denying she had said it at all, even though her "Abolish the Senate" post is still up.

It's understandable why someone with her views would want to pivot away from the culture wars.
