As the day rolls on, we're learning that is indeed what's happening. Bondi will reportedly be replaced, at least for now, by the Deputy AG:

Her deputy @DAGToddBlanche will take over in the interim.

This comes less than a month after Trump fired DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
