WaPo columnist: 'The right is dwelling on slanderous myths' about the origins of COVID-19

Drew Holden asked the Washington Post a question earlier, after noting that the New York Times had pivoted from the coronavirus escaping from a Wuhan lab being a “fringe theory” of Sen. Tom Cotton’s to a story on a group of scientists calling for further inquiry into the origins of COVID-19:

Even PolitiFact has appended a correction to its “fact-check” on the “debunked” Wuhan Institute of Virology conspiracy theory. But a Washington Post columnist has decided that Republicans are pouncing on the newfound curiosity as to where the coronavirus originated. And it’s not just a conspiracy theory, but “slanderous myths” driven by the “manias and vendettas” of the populist right.
