'Large but slow' tornado touches down near Corning, Kan.; Storm chasers capture funnel on Vine [pics, video]

Kansas is bracing for another round of tornadoes today and residents of Nemaha County are being urged to seek shelter. The cities of Corning and Centralia especially are being warned to be on the lookout.

An tornado that touched down in Marysville, Kan., late Monday night has been classified as an EF-2 by the National Weather Service.

The good news: today’s tornado is reported to have lifted before hitting Corning. A new funnel cloud, though, is reported to be headed toward nearby Goff, Kan.

41 Action News is reporting that the tornado in Corning destroyed six farm buildings and damaged 18, although there are no reports of injuries. Storm chasers now are reporting tornado conditions in Salina, Kan.

Bennington is about 15 miles north of Salina, and storm chasers are in hot pursuit.
