Ben & Jerry's Co-Owner's Creepy Disney Doll Stunt: Ruining Magic for a Misguided Political Cause

My family lives near Disney World in Orlando, and we’re total Disney fanatics. We’re always popping in for visits or staycations—it’s like our happy place. Even my adult kids still get that magical spark in their eyes when we go. For little ones, it’s the kind of place that creates memories they’ll carry forever. For us, Disney’s special because it brings back those warm, fuzzy moments we shared with my late dad—pure, heartwarming nostalgia. That’s why this latest stunt by Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen feels so gross and out of touch to me.

Baffled Disneyland visitors at the "It's a Small World" attraction were greeted by a protest doll holding a sign reading "Remember Hiroshima" over the weekend, sparking questions and speculation online as videos of the doll spread.

Videos began circulating on TikTok and Reddit Monday showing a woman carrying a female doll holding a sign reading "Remember Hiroshima" while walking around Disneyland. Another photo online showed the doll within the "It's a Small World" exhibit, strategically positioned next to one of the tunnels that the boat ride traffics.

Speculation mounted as the videos spread and earned hundreds of thousands of views and social media users questioned the meaning of the political stunt, while others questioned how the doll made it through the park's tight security.

Ben Cohen claims he’s all about protecting kids, yet he’s fine with sticking a creepy, bloody doll in a Disney ride just to scare the daylights out of little ones. Way to shatter the magic for kids who’ll never forget this nightmare! Most families save up for years to give their kids a dream Disney vacation, and this absurdly wealthy guy swoops in and traumatizes them. What a jerk. He ought to make it right by compensating the families who had to deal with this mess.

He doesn't care about those lives lost though.

Cohen’s dodging a key truth: nations have every right to defend themselves when attacked. Whatever his personal stance, a kids’ amusement park ride is the absolute last place for his stunt. It’s just not the spot for that kind of message.

Honestly, the ultra-rich need better hobbies than messing with young families trying to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Seriously, go touch grass and let us have our magic in peace.
