@CathyYoung63 @AJDelgado13 I can't believe that being creeped out or upset by catcalling suddenly means you're one of those crazy progs.

It’s one of the most talked about online videos this week. A non-profit called “Hollaback” released it to show the bad behavior of some men toward women walking down the street. Their “ask” says that they’re dedicated to ending street harassment. We’re not sure how exactly they plan on doing that though.
Breaking: Men on NYC streets are rude louts & boors. And if you videotape them, you can 8 million views on YouTube! https://t.co/4JIE7LGpDa

@michellemalkin It's (a) v edited (b) walks thru certain neighborhoods/men sitting down (c) w someone holding camera/that attracts attention

The video says that they used a GoPro camera so the camera probably didn’t attract a lot of attention. The editing is probably very misleading though. To get two minutes of guys catcalling, they had to shoot ten hours of walking. It’s not likely that the other 9 hours 58 minutes contained a lot of really objectionable behavior since some of what made it into the video was fairly benign.

Catcalling is now the outrage du jour though.
"When is catcalling not harassment?"
Never. The answer is "never". Full stop.

YOU ARE A HERO. MT @RealLucasNeff I'm over male comedians or any men at all defending cat calls. How hard is it to just keep your mouth shut

Of course there HAS to be a racial component.
Here's the problem with that catcalling video: http://t.co/WQL1GHbgWb pic.twitter.com/BX0OFpldSv

@Slate no no. no. Hang on, This woman got unwanted attention x100 in TEN hours. The common factor is MEN did this. Not race, sex.

@LucyStag @CathyYoung63 ive had experiences that were awful, sure. Is this a societal prob, tho? No
— A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) October 29, 2014
To be clear, catcalling isn't fun and I disagree w the NY Post writer who said it was flattering. But I just don't think it's a big deal.
