Uh oh. Someone forgot to tell Jack Osbourne that the Hollywood Approved™ reaction to A&E’s suspension of Phil Robertson is to screech “homophobe!!11!11” and “burn the beard witch!”
On Thursday night, the Robertson family released a statement defending their patriarch for “expressing his faith” in a GQ interview. They signaled that they’re in talks with A&E about the future of “Duck Dynasty” and wrote, “We cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.”
As a former star of “The Osbournes,” Jack knows a bit about what it’s like to be a reality star. While he appears to think Robertson “f*cked up,” he applauded the family for sticking together and said he’d “hate to see the DD folks to be overly persecuted for this.”
Osbourne also weighed in on Robertson’s “obligation to uphold the image and views of” A&E. Depending on Robertson’s contract, that may be fair enough. But wasn’t it the Robertsons’ faith- and family-oriented beliefs that made them a cash cow for A&E?
