As the court-martial trial of Nidal Malik Hasan for the premeditated murder of 13 military personnel began this week, pro-life activist Lila Rose remembered the fourteenth victim of the Ford Hood jihad shooting — the unborn child of 21-year-old murder victim Pvt. Francheska Velez.

On Tuesday, prosecutors described the pregnant solider pleading with Hasan for her baby’s life before her voice went silent.
Prosecutor at Major Hasan trial: amid the chaos in Nov. 2009, a pregnant woman pleads "my baby, my baby." Then, her voice goes silent.

Today, Twitchy founder/CEO Michelle Malkin reminded readers of Velez’s baby in her column, “3 forgotten facts about the Fort Hood jihad attack.”
Fourteen victims fell on Nov. 5, 2009, not 13. Thirteen of our U.S. military personnel died in cold blood at the deployment center. But the death toll was actually 14. Pvt. Francheska Velez, 21, was pregnant when Hasan shot her during the first round of gunfire. At a military Article 32 hearing in 2010 (analogous to a civilian grand jury hearing), a survivor of the Fort Hood shootings testified that Velez cried out, “My baby! My baby!”
And Hasan is only sorry he couldn’t do more to wage his bloodthirsty jihad.
Velez’s unborn child never had a chance to take a single breath. Those who value life will not forget that there were not thirteen, but fourteen unarmed victims whose lives were snuffed out during the 2009 terror spree.
@michellemalkin If one of them is the 14th victim we haven't forgotten that innocent unborn child & her mother. Checking now. #FortHood

13 soldiers and 1 unborn child paid with their lives for our country’s reckless political correctness and bureaucratic fecklessness #hasan
