Try again: Two former Obama staffers swing and miss at French election analysis

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod has come up with the reasons he thinks Emmanuel Macron defeated Marine Le Pen in the French election. Put simply:  Obama endorsed Macron, and Trump seemed to express support for Le Pen.

Since when did Obama endorsing candidates actually help them win?

Another former Obama staffer, Ben Rhodes, also chimed in by claiming that Macron won because he modeled his campaign after theirs in 2008.

Obama “anti-establishment”? Sorry, but no.

Is there a possibility that French voters just decided that Macron was the better of the two candidates unrelated to Obama or Trump?
