Some believe Trump was supporting Marine Le Pen in the runoff to beat Macron. He told the Associated Press that she was “strongest on borders, and she’s the strongest on what’s been going on in France.” He also tweeted the following two weeks ago.

He will now have to reach out to and work with Macron, which it appears he is initiating with his tweet.
