As we reported Thursday night, President Donald Trump has authorized all intelligence agencies to cooperate with Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into how the Russia probe was started.

This means he has given Barr the authority to declassify documents and materials as he deems appropriate.

Washington Examiner columnist Byron York reports that there may be another potential benefit/consequence to this declassification process. It could allow for Department of Justice inspector general Michael Horowitz to include more in his upcoming report on the agency.

Horowitz’s role is to investigate the DOJ internally and to determine how a FISA warrant was obtained.
