There’s an ugly video going viral showing a crowd of people in China shouting the N-word at a Black basketball player as he’s leaving his team bus:

The player in question, Clarence “Sonny” Weems of the Guangdong Southern Tigers, reportedly got into a fight during an earlier game with Han Dejun of the Liaoning Flying Leopards which is what appears to have promoted the vile language from the fans:
Warning:Triggering Language used in video
Seems to be Liaoning Flying Leopards fans racially abusing Sonny Weems as he gets off bus. I believe fan reaction is response to a “fight” Weems and a Liaoning player were involved in during a game. pic.twitter.com/dS7SZ0bbES

The BBC’s Kerry Allen confirmed the story:
(Warning – this is *highly obscene and offensive*)
A colleague says this happened Jan 14th in Liaoning after a fight between Sonny Weems and Chinese basketball player Han Dejun.
I have no words.

And here’s the fight that started it all:
Another view of altercation. Sonny Weems is a good guy and from what I can tell well-liked by fans and players within the league. Always been respectful of the culture and players here. Driving force that led Guangdong to 3 straight titles last 3 seasons pic.twitter.com/2wcpcOlyT4

So, will LeBron James and every other NBA star NOW say something?
Incident in game that led to “punches” being thrown. Both players got 12 game suspensions. Liaoning player and coach claiming Weems broke Liaoning player’s nose. pic.twitter.com/yGl2ubIdcc
