The official Twitter account for the White House Correspondents’ Association shared an article on it’s feed that questions if President Donald Trump actually knows the lyrics to the national anthem:
Does Donald Trump know the words to the national anthem? You be the judge https://t.co/wfzHGfeYkw via @YahooSports

Um, why is the group that “represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues” sharing this particular article?

The article refers to videos of Trump singing from last night’s national championship game that have since gone viral:

From a reporter on the ground:
To be clear: We were about 30 feet from Trump during national anthem. We could not tell what he was saying or singing. He appeared to mouth some of the words and was quiet for some of the others.

Trump was mouthing some words during parts of the national anthem, but it was unclear what he was saying. He didn't open mouth during other parts.

Maybe the media is so focused on the lyrics because they don’t want to cover the cheers for Trump as he walked on the field?
