As Hurricane Matthew takes aim for Cuba, evacuations are underway to make sure non-essential personnel at the U.S. Navy Base in Guantanamo Bay are out of harm’s way … including some pets:

Err … wouldn’t these bunkers be underground? That doesn’t sound like the best place to shelter from a hurricane…
If the storm intensifies, there are plans to move everyone to a more secure location:

Skipper says they'll move to shelters, @HollyBell8, if >CAT-2. GTMO has plenty of Cold War era bunkers. Won't be comfy but should be safe.
