Why is it so hard for the media to get the basic facts on how a gun is purchased in this country correct?
Here’s CNN Money, for example, with the often-repeated falsehood that sellers of firearms purchased at a gun show don’t need to perform a background check before selling a gun to a customer:

No, it won’t die.
And here’s Bob Owens from our sister publication Bearing Arms with the truth. The “overwhelming majority of guns offered for sale” at these dreaded gun shows are from sellers with a federal firearms license. This license requires them to do a background check, even if that sale is at a gun show:
You're getting facts wrong, AGAIN, @CNNMoney.
FFLs conduct background checks at gun shows. @ATFHQ will confirm. http://t.co/H1dk1vgFvv

Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealers must perform BG checks FOR EVERY GUN, wherever they sell them, @CNNMoney. http://t.co/H1dk1vgFvv

Does @CNN require any sort of basic firearms training, or firearms law training, for those reporters covering the subject?

Apparently not.
