CNN’s Brian Stelter this morning called the spreading of Fake News and conspiracy theories about students from Stoneman Douglas HS “a form of pollution” that “poisons the environment for all of us” and that “it is making our society sick.”
OK, then. What does Stelter think of his CNN colleague Van Jones retweeting this conspiracy theory that the “common denominators” in mass shootings is that they’re committed by “while males under 30″ with AR-15s” and they’re “Republicans”?
hey @VanJones68, good retweet, wondering if you could source the claim that the common denominator of mass shootings is that they're committed by Republicans? pic.twitter.com/tSvT8pqLpJ

@LaurieShoe account was responding to this tweet from Van Jones:
Returned to the scene of Las Vegas mass shooting. We put 2 survivors into a van with the gun store owner who sold the sniper his weapons. Powerful conversation. #VanJonesShow Saturday 7pm ET / 4pm PT @CNN … SET YOUR DVR NOW !!!! pic.twitter.com/fmgShpGZwi

Great job, CNN:

It’s not their best week, to say the least:
I’ve defended CNN extensively against unfair attacks from Trump, but they’ve had the worst week of any news network I can remember. The network is in meltdown mode w/ obvious activism and no one among their management seems to recognize the harm they are doing.

That's why I got annoyed when a certain reporter tried to pretend the media's credibility problems were due simply to attacks from Trump. Trump doesn't force Cuomo, Acosta etc. to act like Dem hacks. He doesn't force producers to do snark chyrons fact-checking opinions etc.

The really annoying thing is this is only helping Trump. Trump can only thrive as a binary choice against someone as unpopular as him. During the election, it was HRC. Now that she is gone, he needs a new unpopular foil, and the media seems eager to comply.
