Twitchy regular Charlie Daniels took to Twitter on Wednesday night to express his displeasure at NFL athletes and their #TakeAKnee protests, saying he “would ordinarily be watching Thursday Night Football, but for some reason I’m not”:
I would ordinarily be watching Thursday Night Football, but for some reason I’m not

Oof. The blue-check brigade quickly dragged the legendary country star over having his dates mixed up:
It's Wednesday, Goober. https://t.co/JH4bNeje8w

To be fair, none of us are watching Thursday night football- because it's fucking WEDNESDAY https://t.co/xs4ezUo85h

Because it's like a whole different night of the week? Just spitballing here, Chuck. https://t.co/h1XMEESzXO

A new hashtag has been created just for @CharlieDaniels: #NoThursdayNightFootballOnWednesday https://t.co/UcD4TV183r

I'd normally be doing Taco Tuesday, but for some reason I'm not https://t.co/16ExbymxXb

Charlie seems to be taking his goof in stride. He tweeted this about two hours later:
Guess I’ll hang it up for tonight
Goodnight planet earth-God bless— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) September 28, 2017
The blue-check mockery also ignores the bigger picture that the NFL protests are alienating fans. Charlie may have been a day early, but his boycott should be a concern for the owners.
