Last night, Twitchy reported on a new study by environmental 'experts' in Australia who discovered a new climate change threat: our dogs.

Not just no, not just hell no, not just, 'I will go to war,' but if you want to become the enemy of the entire rational-thinking world, Mother Jones, this is how you do it.
I won't waste any time covering all of the details about the 'environmental impacts' of dogs; you can read JustMindy's excellent coverage of the story in the link above. Suffice it to say that the 'impact' dogs have is simply ... existing. As in, there would be fewer carbon emissions if they didn't.
I am tempted to ask, 'Have you no shame, Mother Jones?' Except I already know they do not.
Needless to say, Twitter was unequivocal in telling them -- and this study -- to get bent.

Of course, Mother Jones knew this would be the reaction. They wrote and published this story with the express intent of pissing off as many people as possible.
'Journalisming' in 2025, ladies and gentlemen.
They would respond that this was a legitimate scientific study and they were just 'covering the news.' But that is nonsense. It is NOT a legitimate study. Not only that, but nowhere in the article is a counterpoint considered, nowhere in the article do they speak to anyone with a different opinion, and nowhere in the article does the author, Donna Wu, stop, look herself in the mirror, and write down, 'What in the hell is WRONG with me?'
It's just straight climate crisis propaganda.
It can get repetitive and trite to call everything Marxism, but this argument from Wu and Mother Jones screams of the essence of Marxism: Take something beloved, take something beautiful, and try to destroy it.
Marxism also never knows where or when to stop doing that because, for Marxists, there IS no place to stop. There is no bridge too far.
But they fail to realize two critical factors. First, most importantly, they do not have the power that they think they do (thank God). Secondly, they have no idea about the hills that millions of normal people will die on. This is one of them.
If you follow my account on X, you might know that, outside of my family and close friends, there is no one in the world as important to me as my dog. I am not exaggerating or being hyperbolic when I say that my dog saved my life during some very dark times. Now, as he is getting on in years and developing some of the health issues that naturally come with aging, it is my turn to save his life, for as long as I can.
I know I am not alone. Millions of Americans and people around the world love our dogs as much as (or even more than) we love most people. It reminds me of the days of COVID. I could recount all of the many sins that Tony Fauci committed that destroyed people's lives. But the story that infuriated people almost more than any other was when we discovered that Fauci had enabled 'research' that amounted to nothing more than torturing small, innocent beagle puppies for no discerable or valid scientific purpose.
In some ways, we think of dogs like small children. They are innocent, they are adorable (most of the time, though both are prone to have 'accidents'), but most of all, they love us unconditionally.
You simply don't find that last quality in many adults.
When Fauci and others who followed him started destroying the lives of children with lockdowns and forced masking, that is when America turned against him most forcefully. And for years, no one really cared that much when men wanted to dress up in women's clothes. But when the gender cult started targeting children, and being very public about that, that is when the fight against them began in earnest.
At the risk of angering Matt Walsh, I will say that our dogs ARE very much like our children. It's not the same, of course, but the relationship does share some similarities. The most important of these is that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that most dog owners will not do to protect our pets. We would walk through fire for them. We would go to every length we can for their health and happiness.
And yes, we will utterly DESTROY anyone who tries -- anyone who even thinks of trying -- to take them away from us.
Another hallmark of the left is that they love to probe. With bayonets. Yes, Mother Jones likely knew that the initial reaction to this 'study' was going to be virulent backlash. But then there will be another 'study' and article. And another. And if the backlash softens, they will continue to push, hoping for more mush. We need to make sure they don't find any mush here, only steel.
Run away from this one, Mother Jones. You think it's bad to have a trained dog sicced on you? You have NO idea.
Just wait until you have those dogs' owners sicced on you.
