The execrable Mark Ruffalo just doesn't know when to shut up or just take the 'L'. As our Brett wrote, Hulk actor, Mark Ruffalo has spoken out about the Paramount / Warner Brothers merger by David Ellison, scion of Oracle founder, Larry Ellison.
Ruffalo is currently filling the Sean Penn role of being the loudest, furthest left and most idiotic voice in Hollywood. So while mergers happen all the time with scarcely a peep out of anyone, this one is especially bad because the Ellison family leans right.
So while the California political machine is doing everything they can to make it about Trump, fascism and all the usual things, Ruffalo has to go there and make it about his pet cause: Israel.
The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue…

is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect.
Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.
This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance [ooh, scary word -ed] technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.

A number of points:
- Everything he's 'worried' about like government contracts and foreign money are common to all the mega corporations that have entertainment divisions: Disney, Comcast, etc.
- He intentionally misses the accusations against him and his words.
- Ruffalo talks and thinks like someone who sat in on too many DSA Zoom calls. Everything is interconnected and is manipulated by clandestine forces in dark back rooms filled with cigar smoke.
To point one:
I think Ruffalo’s real problem is simply hatred. As much as he hates Israel, he also hates the idea of media being controlled by someone outside this political tribe. He can’t separate this hatred in his head. https://t.co/eJXyTK39ka

The point here is that this one merger isn't any more political than any other one. But somehow Ellison's Jewishness and support for Israel is relevant to Mark (and the hundreds of socialist, communists, Islamists, Groypers and other warped intersectionalists who cheered his Tweet).
You went on a deranged rant, trying to connect a simple entertainment business merger that you don’t like with an unrelated tech company. You went on to suggest this somehow has to do with providing technology to Israel, and that this technology will help them consolidate wealth…

and power, and they are going to use this to conduct genocide, infiltrate governments, and spy on every day people.”
-Mark Ruffalo, essentially… when he tried to explain why two media companies should not merge
Essentially this. Why couldn't he be just the garden variety Hollywood hypocrite and keep it focused on the oligarchs, corporate greed and all that?
To the second point:
Mark, nobody is arguing that criticizing a merger or a military contract is inherently antisemitic.

The question is why a debate about a business merger became a denigration of Israel and the political loyalties of the Jewish businessman involved.

argument exclusively about media consolidation, jobs, editorial independence, foreign investment, or national security. Instead, you dragged Israel and Jews into it [emphasis added]. “I have Jewish friends” isn’t the defense you think it is.
The issue isn’t whether you harbor hatred for Jews in your heart. It’s whether you recognize the very old pattern you’re invoking when Jews, their money, their influence, their loyalties, and Israel somehow become interconnected explanations for everything you hate.
This cuts right to the chase.
What does a merger by the Ellisons have to do with Israel?
— Shaun Maguire (@shaunmmaguire) August 22, 2026
Other than the Ellisons being Jewish?
(Dead-eyed Kamala Harris facial expression) I can't think of one thing.

You’ve conflated your criticism of Israel and the criticism of a merger of studios in Hollywood, with an American Jewish family— and all because of your burning hatred for Israel.
Now you’re posting about foregin influence (funny given all the Qatari bots in your comment…

praising you) as if the Ellisons are the Israeli government. I think taking a step back and reconsidering if tying every problem you have in your life to the world’s only Jewish state, and connecting every Jew’s actions to it, helps you prove that you are “not antisemitic.”
We actually believe he has Jewish friends. There are plenty of Jews who are more socialist than Jewish.
I’m a Jewish survivor of neonazi violence. Mark Ruffalo donated his time & resources to aid my friends & I from March For Our Lives to educate voters & raise awareness regarding issues of violence in our society. I reject Paramount’s baseless, defamatory attack against Mr Ruffalo https://t.co/X6W75xzBAk

Addressing the point number three:
You’re a fundamentally dishonest malignant toxic narcissist. You’re not the arbiter of anything. You’re just an actor who sucks down 1960s Soviet Agitprop and regurgitates fact free Antizionist Libel Vomit. You don’t get to decide what does or doesn’t count as Jew Hate. The anti-Zionism is just one tentacle of the socialist far Left. It is the natural extension of the so-called anti-Imperialism, anti-Western, anti-American and, ironically anti-Capitalist sentiment.
To quote Fiddler on the Roof "rabbi, is there blessing for the Czar? Yes, may the Lord bless you and keep you ... far away from us!"
Bless you, Mark.
