In the California gubernatorial debate this week, Republican Steve Hilton pummeled Democrat Xavier Becerra using his own record and words. Oh, Hilton also quoted past reported comments about Becerra from Obama and Biden White House alum Susan Rice.
That appears to not be going over well with Rice.
.@SteveHiltonx Make no mistake, I support @XavierBecerra for CA Gov. So stop using my name against him.

It sounds to us more like Hilton used your own words against Becerra, Ms. Rice.
Here's how that unfolded:
Becerra's former Democrat colleague Susan Rice once called him an "idiot" and a "bitch-ass." Why?

That doesn't sound like Hilton was using Rice's name against Becerra at all!
He’s using *your* words against him.

Because you said it.
The internet is forever. https://t.co/ceSIwI8u4u
Bingo.
Yes, we understand that you are willingly supporting an idiot for governor of California. pic.twitter.com/xEKZoSKadq

We'll take Rice's previous word for it.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress and win governorships like the one up for grabs in California.
