The best debate comebacks aren't just witty or overly aggressive, but truths that are set up by the opponent. That's exactly what happened during last night's debate between Democrat Xavier Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton.
Earlier Sam wrote about how Hilton worked over Becerra, who was visibly uncomfortable. Doing things like nervously sipping coffee while Hilton described what a disaster Becerra was as the head of HHS under Biden:
Becerra sips his coffee when confronted about the migrant children he TRAFFICKED at HHS.

In case you missed the @SteveHiltonx ve @XavierBecerra California gubernatorial debate on @CNN I’ve summarized the entire thing in this image below.

As I've mentioned before (as a matter of fact I did earlier today), California Democrats have a particular knack for stumbling into their own traps, and such was the case again in the debate.
Becerra wanted to talk about "the definition of insanity," and Hilton was happy to take that handoff and run with it.
I think my favorite moment of the debate tonight was when Becerra said “isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?”

To which @SteveHiltonx replied, “Yeah, like voting Democrat.”
Perfection. 🤌🏻
Ouch! And that couldn't be more true.
OMG … one of my favorite lines in this debate is when Becerra said “isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?”

Becerra walked right into that one!🤣😂 pic.twitter.com/GYmSZn0lvC
Perfect.
Hopefully enough voters in California let Becerra know they're not going to have anything to do with the definition of insanity.
