California Gov. Gavin Newsom and his "first partner" wife, Jennifer, are under investigation by the Justice Department.

The couple has tried to turn the probe into a "Trump's weaponizing the DOJ" talking point but that recently backfired in a big way.

Couple that story with the Senate confirmation of Trump's pick for Attorney General and this post from Gavin Newsom is dripping with nervousness and projection. 

"This is corruption on a staggering scale." Yeah, that's what Nick Shirley found, and Team Newsom tried to mock him for it.

Gavin seems to be sensing that the walls could be soon closing in, as the Left used to like to say constantly about Trump. 

If Newsom's not nervous, his social media team is doing a bad job of making it not look that way. 

Gavin gave that away when he pointed to a legitimate Senate vote to confirm a nominee while saying that's "how democracies rot." That might be how some Democrats rot, but not a democracy.
