President Trump's efforts to clean up Washington, DC both in aesthetic terms and by dramatically lowering the crime rate have caused Democrats and some of their water carriers in the media to clutch their pro-filth, pro-crime pearls.
For many, many years, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool looked like King Kong's bathwater, and nobody on the Left said a word. Now Trump is in the midst of an effort to make the water less dingy and suddenly "algae-gate" is an actual thing.
The TDS in DC reached record levels when this happened:

Maybe some of the workers at the Lincoln Memorial can also add some extra chlorine to the gene pool while they're at it.
Rampant fraud in states around the country is being uncovered but ABC News now has an algae correspondent at the Reflecting Pool.
ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool where workers continue to battle algae – and the new paint job appears to be falling apart.

The Department of Interior did not immediately respond to a request for comment. https://t.co/7TzBngVdyc pic.twitter.com/cBGbThipua
Pulitzer!
They sent Jonathan Karl to do a report on algae.

Amazing. https://t.co/l0Ou2mPYnQ
Karl joins the CNN reporter who tested the water in the pool at the top of the list for "journalist of the year."
The amount of time and energy "journalists" have spent trying to make Algaegate a thing is proof positive of how UNserious our media really is. How embarrassing. 🙄

We certainly haven't seen the end of the media's efforts to make "algae-gate" a thing.
