It's become clear that meteorologists are among those in the media who are triggered by a second Trump term in the White House.
Earlier this year Amy wrote about a Milwaukee meteorologist who was reportedly fired for calling Elon Musk a Nazi on Instagram (this week's events might have caused a change of heart but I can't be sure).
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
A Milwaukee TV weather forecaster has been dropped by her station one day after she criticized Elon Musk on social media for his straight-arm gesture that many have likened to a Nazi salute.
Staffers at WDJT-TV (Channel 58) were alerted by email on Wednesday that meteorologist Sam Kuffel had left the station. Her biography and picture had been removed from Channel 58 website by Wednesday afternoon.
"Meteorologist Sam Kuffel is no longer employed at CBS58," said the staff memo from news director Jessie Garcia that was obtained by the Journal Sentinel. "A search for a replacement is underway."
A spokeswoman for Weigel Broadcasting Co. confirmed via email late Wednesday that Kuffel was no longer with Channel 58. But the spokeswoman said she couldn't comment further because this was a personnel issue.
This week I ran across another unhappy weather forecaster turned political activist.
Some meteorologists have in the past blamed inaccurate forecasts on difficulties caused by climate change, and now they have a fresh excuse: Trump and DOGE cuts.
DOGE: This weatherman has been blaming global warming for his inaccurate forecasts for years. Now he’s dropped that excuse and is blaming DOGE cuts instead. Expect ALL legacy media weather segments to repeat this false narrative. pic.twitter.com/tDk9RwTy1c

What computers and other equipment does this guy not have right now that he did have in order to make his forecast a few years ago? These people are acting like Elon Musk is running in like a repo man and taking away their forecasting tools and personnel. This is not unlike when Dems were blaming higher prices on Trump's tariffs before they even kicked in.
After playing the clip, Morales said that while he was able to go on television six years ago and “confidently” tell residents the storm would turn, he did not believe he could do the same this hurricane season.
“And I am here to tell you that I am not sure that I can do that this year because of the cuts, the gutting, the sledgehammer attack on science in general,” Morales said.
Trump’s cuts have led to massive staffing shortages at National Weather Service offices across Central and South Florida. As a result, Morales explained, less data is being collected due to fewer weather balloon launches. “And what we’re starting to see is that the quality of the forecast is becoming degraded,” Morales said.
I checked out this meteorologist's X timeline and it features plenty of climate change alarmism. He even shared a video featuring Michael Mann, and anybody who does that should not be taken seriously. Morales was also on a podcast with Stacey Abrams so this isn't a nonpartisan "just the science" person. This guy's a lib activist, not unlike so many others in "journalism."

That's how they tend to operate. But not all the time. I worked for a network affiliated TV station for 20 years and knew meteorologists both at my station and elsewhere who thought Al Gore was full of BS and the industry's climate change alarmism was incredibly irresponsible.
How anyone still falls for this type of propaganda is completely beyond me.

Can AI do weather forecasting yet? Because that might be where this is headed and if it culminates in not having my weatherman telling me who to vote for it might not be a bad thing.
