The arrival of President Trump and DOGE, along with the confirmations of Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. (with Kash Patel warming up in the bullpen) has massively rattled the nerves of Democrats and other current and former public officials.
The big concern on the Left was perhaps best summed up by Rep. Maxine Waters when she was heard saying the following:

"Lawyer up" used to be said as somewhat of an empty threat but not anymore -- that appears to be what's actually happening. Attorney General Pam Bondi announcing charges against some Democrats yesterday is probably going to speed up the process.
