Here's a WaPo chaser to wash down all the Left's FBI whistleblower hearing denial yesterday

Yesterday Democrats and the lefty media tried to mock House testimony from FBI whistleblowers who were putting forth some serious allegations under oath.

CNN tried to downplay the story by calling the witnesses “self-described whistleblowers” who are pushing a “Republican narrative”:

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said the whistleblowers are “guilty of insubordination”:

Dem Rep. Stacey Plaskett defended the integrity of the FBI and called any claims otherwise as “defund the police on steroids”:

Ironic, no? Watching the Democrats now trying to paint the Republicans as the “defund the police” party is shameless.

Keeping in mind all the lefties yesterday who were trying to call BS on the FBI whistleblowers, the Washington Post today has a heck of a chaser to all that:

In other words, as Katie Pavlich notes below, the whistleblowers weren’t lying like the Dems want everybody to believe:

From the WaPo:

The FBI has misused a powerful digital surveillance tool more than 278,000 times, including against crime victims, January 6 riot suspects, people arrested at protests in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd in 2020, and — in one case — 19,000 donors to a congressional candidate, according to a newly-unsealed court document.

The FBI says it has already fixed the problems, which it blamed on a misunderstanding between its employees and Justice Department lawyers about how to properly use a vast database named for the legal statute that created it, Section 702.

But the failures to use the 702 database correctly when collecting information about U.S. citizens and others may make it harder for the agency to marshal support in Congress to renew the law, which is due to expire at the end of this year. It may also create additional headwinds for the FBI, which has been under attack for years by former president Donald Trump and his political supporters. House lawmakers aligned with Trump held a hearing this week trying to show the nation’s premier law enforcement agency is biased against conservatives.

“Blamed on a misunderstanding”? Is that like the Pentagon’s “accounting error”?

Oh, I’m also highly skeptical that anybody will be held accountable.

What’s comical is that if you look at some of the replies to the Post there are actually people who believe that, because this happened toward the end of Trump’s presidency, that it was Trump weaponizing the FBI against the Democrats. That level of denial is laughable but not unexpected.
