As we told you yesterday, President Biden was spotted using a “cheat sheet” during his joint press conference outside the White House with the President of South Korea.
The gathered media who were chosen for questions appeared happy to oblige because they didn’t wander off script, so Biden knew exactly what was coming:

BREAKING REPORT: Joe Biden used a cheat sheet today showing a journalist's question in advance.
Can you imagine the media outrage this would cause if a Republican did this?? pic.twitter.com/lbMwixWMvt

When Trump was in the White House can you imagine the press corps meltdown that would have occurred if reporters were asked what they were going to ask so questions could be screened and then Trump was given a cheat sheet? Jim Acosta would have gotten himself arrested in protest of another egregious attempt to shred the First Amendment to pieces.
Instead, the president is now a Democrat, and the Washington Post is coming to the rescue:
The Washington Post says it's not at all a breach of journalistic ethics for reporters to tell White House staff (to then relay to the President) what their questions will be in advance.
And it's fine the public doesn't know.

It’s totally normal, everybody! Also note that the claim comes from another “anonymous” person — a supposed White House reporter in this instance.
See this happens all the time. Calm down.

Should be easy to give examples during the Trump administration.

So instead of WaPo calling out a journalist/outlet for feeding a planned question to the WH beforehand, their spin is that this is normal and common?

The main question might not be why the Biden White House wanted Biden to have a cheat sheet, but why “journalists” so easily go along with it:
They could always just not give them their questions. I wonder what 4 years in journalism school says about giving questions ahead of time.

Unreal.
"Many years"
Or two.

I would like to see one actual example of this happening with a Republican president. https://t.co/kM5Pv3NBpY

And of course the Republicans have pounced, seized and are not capitalizing:
They are "capitalizing" now. pic.twitter.com/6yOsksqroc

Another banner day for hack “journalism.”
