List of NY Gov. Kathy Hochul's hypocrisy just got even longer

Earlier this month it was reported that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul supports an eventual ban on gas furnaces and stoves:

Gov. Kathy Hochul is endorsing a measure to phase out the fuels that warm more than 80 percent of homes in New York.

In her State of the State address Tuesday, Hochul backed a ban on the sale of fossil fuel based heating equipment beginning in 2030 for single-family homes and smaller buildings and 2035 for larger and commercial buildings.

That would mean if a gas furnace failed or needed a replacement after that date, it would have to be with an electric or other non-combustion system. The proposal does not include gas stoves, according to the governor’s office.

As usual, when a lefty proposes an end to something — whether it’s phasing out fossil fuels or getting rid of meat — you can be sure of one thing: The new “rules” will NOT apply to them.

Take the gas stove situation. They’re so bad for your health that Gov. Hocul continues to use them:

A New York Republican has called Hochul out:

The pushback is targeting Hochul’s personal use of fossil fuels on gas ranges at the Executive Mansion in Albany and at her private pad in Buffalo.

“The governor’s push to ban gas stoves appears to be as hypocritical as it is ridiculous,” Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay (R-Fulton) fumed.

“One has to wonder how many times she’s fired up her own gas stove since declaring them environmentally unsafe in her State of the State Address,” he added.

“Lead by example” is obviously an antiquated philosophy for many hypocritical politicians.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
