Back in February, GOP Rep. Steve Scalise tweeted about demanding a Justice Department investigation into Covid-19 related nursing home deaths in several states:
I have demanded an investigation for months.@JaniceDean has demanded an investigation for months.
Thousands of New Yorkers have demanded an investigation for months.
We were all right.
Cuomo's cover up was just exposed by his own aide.
Time for a full DOJ investigation. pic.twitter.com/1JDHlXb1tq

Today, Scalise heard the DOJ’s decision:
🚨🚨 BREAKING—Biden’s DOJ just said they’re refusing to investigate the massive nursing home COVID death scandals in New York, Michigan, & Pennsylvania.
Absolutely shameful.
They’re complicit in these Democrat governors’ cover ups.
Families who lost loved ones deserve better.

Janice Dean, who lost two in-laws to Covid-19 in New York care facilities, shared the letter:

A terrible day for thousands of families. In a letter to @SteveScalise, @TheJusticeDept wrote that they were dropping the nursing home investigations in all states including New York. There will be no justice for our loved ones, and it feels like we’ve lost them all over again. pic.twitter.com/DV7uNRMr9D

Shameful. There will be judgement on those who allow and enable evil.

We can’t help but wonder what the Biden DOJ’s decision would have been if the states with tragically high nursing home deaths had Republican governors.
