It’s a huge media cliche but they keep running with it when trying to avoid the substance of something that might be otherwise damaging to a Democrat, and another example has been spotted:
Pounced.
Everybody drink!

This one from The Hill has it all:
Republicans have pounced on unexpectedly high inflation readings and a disappointing jobs report for April, arguing they are the products of an overzealous government response that could kneecap the economy. https://t.co/Gck4lZrvBF

There it is…

“Pounced” and “unexpectedly” — it’s a twofer! And the opening paragraph is special:
Gotta love the framing on this one. The economic data is attacking Biden and he's heroically trying to fight it off. pic.twitter.com/iYE3T0Wunq

The poor Biden administration is under assault by the consequences of their own actions? How very journalism-y!
Aside from the usual "pouncing" absurdity, the real question mark is for the "unexpectedly." Economists have been talking about it since late last year, at least. https://t.co/OqiTujHPXY

FIFY: Biden’s and dem policies have caused high inflation and a shitty jobs report.
Amazing how this headline can be written w/o any mention of repubs, putting the focus where it should be, on creepy Joe. https://t.co/9onAI8CouV

“Unexpectedly”

The gymnastics in this headline
"Republicans pounce",
"inflation readings","overzealous government response".
That's my favorite one. "Overzealous" what a word to describe a full forced shutdown of the economy substituted by Government handout stimulus. https://t.co/d4ZMPXm2Vz

The media has become way too predictable.
