Detroit police chief calls Rep. Rashida Tlaib's tweets 'reckless and disgusting,' would like to see her resign

After Daunte Wright’s death, Rep. Rashida Tliab took to Twitter to call for an end to policing, claiming it “can’t be reformed”:

It wasn't an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist.

Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder.

No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed.

Detroit PD Chief James Craig has slammed Rep. Tlaib in the past, and her comments sparked a fresh round of criticism:

Craig also indicated that he’d break out the party hats if Tlaib left office:
