Yesterday a man who is reportedly a Nation of Islam follower rammed his car into two U.S. Capitol officers before he was shot by police. Sadly one officer was killed in the attack and another injured. Right on cue, some started using the attack to forward separate agenda items, and CNN’s Jim Sciutto had a question that is obviously intended to help keep a Democrat talking point moving in a particular direction:
Question: do US Capitol Police officers who live in DC deserve the right to elect representatives to Congress to address security threats to the Capitol?

Many in response think the answer is a solid “yes,” while others see through the shameless attempt to forward a narrative after a tragedy:

If you're using today's attack to score points about DC Statehood or AR-15's delete your account and then launch yourself into an active volcano. https://t.co/jAkLK8Pxrd

We’re looking at you, Rep. Ilhan Omar!
Question … do @BrianStelter and @OliverDarcy consider this the rhetoric of a strictly "neutral, straight news" reporter?https://t.co/ZgPV8C9yF3
