'As expected': During CBS This Morning's interview with AOC 'actual journalism was carefully avoided'

Yesterday evening Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led a group therapy session featuring House member “survivors” of the January 6th storming of the U.S. Capitol.

For AOC, the therapy would continue Friday on CBS This Morning:

EXCLUSIVE: @RepAOC & @RepJasonCrow will join @CBSThisMorning live on Friday to discuss dealing with trauma in the wake of the Capitol riots.

It's @AOC’s first & only interview since recently speaking out on Instagram Live about her experience. pic.twitter.com/zyJX9eI7Oo

And the interview went exactly how you might have imagined:

As expected, CBS used this interview exclusively to attack Republicans, not once questioning AOC for embellishing her story. Actual journalism was carefully avoided.

.@GayleKing to @AOC: "To hear your very terrifying account of that horrible day, was in a word terrifying .. I wonder if it’s triggered all sorts of things for you. I think sometimes when you speak it, you’re reliving it again. I’m wondering what the experience has been for you?” pic.twitter.com/NEkkMFAEOr

CBS: "The other thing I worry about is, where's the human connection? Where's the empathy? You have reports today of people doubting your version of events …"

AOC: "The account is accurate … When it comes to minimizing the experiences of survivors, that's extremely damaging" pic.twitter.com/cq755uWBcI

Rep. Nancy Mace, who was just a couple offices down from Rep. Ocasio-Cortez that day, had a very different take on what happened, and ironically AOC had no problem trying to minimize her story.

Fact check: TRUE.
