The field of 2020 Dems continues to jockey for position at the back of the pack. Yesterday Beto O’Rourke said that America “was founded on white supremacy and every single institution and structure that we have in this country still reflects the legacy of slavery and segregation and Jim Crow and suppression even in our democracy.” With that, current candidate Bill de Blasio saw an opening and pledged to lead a different cause:

Well, isn’t that magnanimous of Comrade Bill, hypothetical US president!
Out of his own check book?

A “President De Blasio” (we can’t say that without laughing) wouldn’t be paying anybody, nor would his office have that authority. Other than that, solid pander, Mr. Mayor!
That's not what a president does. https://t.co/uOIwSXPQMN

So, does the president pay the athletes?

This is the dumbest, most pandery, most unkeepable promise of all time https://t.co/D97J5NDcrT

But it is what a pandering president wannabe does.

My God the pandering never stops!

We have a free market that determines pay rates for us, including women soccer athletes. The more you politicians mess with it, the more expensive everything becomes… please stay out of the free market.

Two closing points from Dana Loesch, both equally compelling:
Not the job of a president and also how can he be trusted to do this when he can’t even hold a groundhog https://t.co/jAZxmkCk2H
