CNN’s Brian Stelter has written a piece explaining why reporters like Bob Woodward have come to rely more on “confidential sources,” and there’s also an observation about the public’s perception of media presented along with it:
Reliance on unnamed sources is growing… While trust in media is shrinking… https://t.co/0u9PP9IHyb

In the article, Bob Woodward is quoted as saying the use of anonymous sources is increasing because “things are more hidden” and “it’s the only way to get at the truth.” The rise in distrust in the media is also noted, but will the MSM be able to put two and two together?
Don't anyone explain it to him. https://t.co/6RnLZqi88f

Meanwhile, NBC News’ Chuck Todd blames Fox News for the spike in public distrust of media. The MSM’s self-awareness is at a record low.
