This TBS statement about Samantha Bee's apology to Ivanka Trump made Kathy Griffin FURIOUS

As we told you earlier, Samantha Bee served up a tweeted apology for using vile language about Ivanka Trump on her TBS show:

I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.

It seems Bee had some, shall we say, corporate encouragement for that:

This just in from TBS: "Samantha Bee has taken the right action in apologizing for the vile and inappropriate language she used about Ivanka Trump last night. Those words should not have been aired. It was our mistake too, and we regret it."

Kathy Griffin, who certainly knows a thing or two about vile comments, got into it with CNN’s Chris Cillizza over Bee’s comments, and then slammed TBS for their response:

Spineless. Support your talent TBS. Instead, you made her apologize. https://t.co/jzVNwhfyZa

Griffin, as you might recall, apologized (somewhat) last year after backlash over her Trump “beheading” stunt before playing the victim and blaming Trump for it.

You have a strange definition of the word “talent”. Last time we checked, beheading presidents and calling a presidents daughter a c*** didn’t classify as talent, nor funny, if that’s what you folks were shooting for. https://t.co/zk4vDBDioC
