UH OH! Jimmy Kimmel's tweet about Roseanne is getting him some MAJOR backlash

Jimmy Kimmel has earned a reputation as a Resistance warrior for his anti-Trump, anti-NRA comments, but let’s see how his cred holds up after this tweet about Roseanne Barr:

What @TheRealRoseanne said is indefensible, but angrily attacking a woman who is obviously not well does no good for anyone. Please take a breath and remember that mental health issues are real. The Roseanne I know could probably use some compassion and help right now.

Kimmel, who CNN has called “America’s conscience,” really stepped in it this time with a lot of people. Here’s just a small sampling:

Do u know what indefensible means x

Mental illness does not make a person racist. Conflating the two is irresponsible and stigmatizing. https://t.co/DJsZKSqLba

What @therealroseanne said is indefensible.

Just stop there. You could have stopped there. But no, you decided to be ableist and throw mentally ill people under the bus.

Racism is not a mental illness. https://t.co/cHXNxwOa8x

At least Kimmel hasn’t blamed the NRA. Not yet anyway.
