Recently, Piers Morgan noticed a disturbing report out of the U.K.:
London overtook New York in murders for the first time in modern history in February as the capital endured a dramatic surge in knife crime https://t.co/X9b9oztx74
— The Sunday Times (@thesundaytimes) April 1, 2018
Very disturbing.
This is happening on YOUR watch, Mr Mayor @SadiqKhan – what are you going to do about it? https://t.co/yUT3YaAYzN— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 1, 2018
Kyle Kashuv weighed in with some heavy duty self-awareness reminders for Morgan:
But Piers, gun control totally worked and made everyone safer! (It didn't because criminals bought knives) https://t.co/w0Olon6AW7
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 1, 2018
Piers, I have the answer… #BanAssaultKnives they're weapons of war
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 1, 2018
But Morgan didn’t want to have any of that, so the subject changed from the U.K. to Parkland, and Kashuv engaged him in a short debate:
Kyle, why did America ban automatic weapons if it’s only about the people not the guns? https://t.co/TORHpQWcyl
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 1, 2018
Machine guns are banned because we are allowed to balance the risks of members of the general public having access to rare weapons with extreme capacity to do damage. But the AR-15 doesn't fall into that category because it is owned by tens of… https://t.co/zsHaL3b4CM
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 1, 2018
So just to clarify, you don't think the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle that was used to shoot 34 of your fellow Parkland students & staffers – killing 17 – in just 6 minutes, had 'extreme capacity to do damage'? https://t.co/Fi4pJ2Jg7s
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 2, 2018
Kashuv wasn’t falling for a common tactic of the Left when arguing about guns:
First, it's God awful for you to paint me like that. Don't pin me with an awful notion that's infers that me supporting my constitutional rights makes me okay with that type of murder.
Second, you're again reading the Heller decision wrong. What made it legal to partially ban.. https://t.co/IVoSBbeYPc
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 2, 2018
Was that it is uncommon and can do unusual damage.
Your argument is flawed in various ofher ways: 1) it isn't a full ban. 2) Handguns, per the DOJ, are the weapons of choice for mass murders and the AR-15 didn't do any damage at Virginia tech, pistols did…
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 2, 2018
Unless you're now going for a blanket gun ban, which many on the left especially my classmates say they don't want, your argument is moot.
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 2, 2018
Ouch! Nice try though, Piers.
This argument could be used to justify the banning of automobiles. https://t.co/BsusFZKOtj

More firearms illiteracy. Give someone a handgun and enough ammo and no police response, and they will have no problem achieving that death toll in 6 long minutes, if not worse.

Run home @piersmorgan you been marginalized haha! #MAGA
— Arquí Puccio (@ArquiPuccio8) April 2, 2018
Piers is a joke. Even high school kids are schooling him on gun control. You'd think he'd work on improving his gun control debate skills. https://t.co/kfObg99BVg

Agree or disagree with @KyleKashuv, you have to admit that he's far more adept at debating like an adult than is @davidhogg111. The clear-cut thinking, strong writing skills and lack of profanity sets him apart. Far apart! https://t.co/wRKIKiRixD
