Yesterday, President Trump tweeted about the horrible violence in Chicago:
Seven people shot and killed yesterday in Chicago. What is going on there – totally out of control. Chicago needs help!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 24, 2017
Illinois Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin today asked Trump to do more:
Yet again, I urge the Pres to stop tweeting&provide critical fed resources for econ development, mentoring&jobs to address Chicago violence https://t.co/YivjoX2Yjk

Is Durbin trying to spin the crime in Chicago into the fault of Republicans and Trump? If so, some reminders are necessary:
Democrats have owned that city for a century……what have you done??

Almost century long Democrat control of Chicago. Federal resources aren't the issue. https://t.co/1MTe5l7nUW

Nice try though, Sen. Durbin.
Why do the (R)'s need to come in and fix a problem Dems have brought on themselves? You started it! Fix it!

Chicago doesn't need more federal resources, it needs fewer Democrats… https://t.co/JgR1ro719D

You & the Democrats have squandered resources for decades & lost all credibility for any real solutions for Chicago citizens
