The op-ed headline stems from a Washington Post article quoting President Obama saying gun sales will rise because people (presumably pro-#2A Americans) fear “the federal government and black helicopters are all coming to get your guns.”

Also quoted in the WaPo piece is an anonymous “senior administration official” who implies that white men refuse to accept Obama’s agenda for fear losing control of the country, and that resistance is at least partially to blame for causing Obama some “missed opportunities” on guns and race.
