Glenn Greenwald thread obliterates CNN's claim to be all about combating disinformation and lies

Yesterday the wheels quickly fell off a stunt to try and trick voters into believing “white supremacists” supporting Glenn Youngkin were pictured next to his campaign bus. The Lincoln Project took credit for the backfired hoax, but Glenn Greenwald spotted CNN not being able to wait to have them back on, and not for purposes of criticism:

CNN's primary marketing claim is it is devoted to combating disinformation and lies.

Yesterday, @ProjectLincoln perpetrated a racist fraud on, one that caused Fake News and lies to spread all over social media.

CNN claiming to combat disinformation and lies is as self-unaware as it gets, which is par for the course for them. Greenwald goes on to explain why:

Note that CNN and @ChrisCuomo did not put the LP's @stuartpstevens on air as a fraudsters who had been caught orchestrating a smear. Cuomo asked one light question — won't this hurt Dems? (his only concern) — but Stevens was there as a CNN pundit, to comment on the VA race.

CNN specializes in putting known liars on the air: not to grill them but to deliver the news. After James Clapper got caught lying to the Senate about the NSA, CNN *hired* him. *The same day* the Lincoln Project caused a racist lie to spread, CNN welcomed them onto a panel.

If you work at CNN and are genuinely baffled why a) nobody trusts you, b) you are widely hated, and c) your audience is gone, wonder no more. Just look in the mirror.@brianstelter: if CNN constantly platforms liars like this, what claim to journalistic superiority can you make?
