Chicago PD: Jussie Smollett paid 2 men with a check to stage attack (and people have thoughts)

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson spoke to the media today after the arrest of Jussie Smollett and had some harsh criticism for the “Empire” actor. Johnson’s statement also included an additional detail about how Smollett paid two brothers to help stage the attack:

-Injuries to Smollett were self-inflicted scratches.
-Smollett wrote a $3,500 check to the brothers to stage the attack.
-Attack was done to promote his career.
-Smollett sent the threat letter.
-Smollett "orchestrated this"
