Many Democrats have endorsed the Green New Deal, which has been championed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez along with Sen. Ed Markey with support from all major Democrat presidential candidates.
Today, Sen. Bob Menendez was asked about the GND, and he sure didn’t want to talk about it, claiming it was because of who the reporter works for:
“Not interested. I have nothing to say to the Daily Caller. You're trash. I won't answer questions to the Daily Caller, period! You're trash! Don't keep harassing me or I'll call Capitol Police!,” Sen. Bob Menendez told me earlier today when I asked about the Green New Deal…

I can confirm. And this was Senator Menendez’s response to a softball question on the Green New Deal, where @henryrodgersdc simply asked him for his thoughts on the resolution. https://t.co/L0y8hkDyjO

Not at all OK for a senator to be threatening a credentialed reporter on the Hill. Full stop. https://t.co/4fA95z8x7R

MSM journos will immediately leap to the DC reporter’s defense in the name of truth and protecting the First Amendment, right?
Someone is attacking the free press! @BobMenendezNJ

??? Will CNN's Brian Stelter condemn this blatant attack on the media by a Democratic Senator? https://t.co/tOTZ2CYTE6

Could you IMAGINE if a Republican did this to MSNBC or CNN?
There would be an organized march of thousands to protect the press in the streets tomorrow….maybe even this afternoon. https://t.co/Lcej5wymrs

Waiting for Democrats to shriek that this threat from a U.S. Senator on a journalist is an “assault on the free press” & “a threat to Democracy.” https://t.co/ck7uNvedsK
