Many in the mainstream media were aghast after Sarah Sanders refused to repeat what CNN’s Jim Acosta wanted her to say, which was that the press is not the “enemy of the people.” Among those journos is NBC News’ political director and “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd:
An extraordinarily disappointing moment by @PressSec just now… Her inability to acknowledge the role POTUS has played in all of this media bashing only hurts her own credibility…She had a chance to defend the institution and take the high ground and show leadership, instead..

Oh no, not at all! *Eye roll*
Maybe the media should stop blaming others and take responsibility for themselves. https://t.co/ffzuf4BwwU

And where were you when the previous administration did its media bashing? Were you up in arms or silent? If the latter, you are responsible for the current climate. https://t.co/57Y2COdOE2

If she agrees with the President, that the Press is the "enemy of the people," then why would she stand up in front of its members and answer their questions at all?
