I had bookmarked this story a few days ago, but passed on publishing a post about it. That changed, though, when I saw that Rep. Rashida Tlaib had decided to jump in and crow about the murder of a 1-year-old by police. So, we're going to politicize this tragedy? OK, let's do it. Black Lives Matter demanded body-worn cameras on police officers back in 2020, and for the most part, they got their wish. The only thing is, bodycams kind of backfired on them, repeatedly showing cops defending themselves from people who decided to rush them, often with weapons drawn.

Let me start with a post that breaks the story down to its essence, as the Left sees it: Police at Walmart shot a 1-year-old and got away with it. This was posted on Saturday.

Now, let's flash back a week to Tlaib's version of events:

"The police violence terrorizing our communities must end."

This was from yesterday:

Why would the Mississippi attorney general refuse to prosecute a cop who shot a 1-year-old? Let's go to the bodycam footage … maybe that will provide a clue.

The post continues:

… SURROUNDED the car, yelling "Stop!" over and over. The driver slammed into a parked SUV and then drove FORWARD toward officers with their guns drawn. Darkhorse Press, which first published the footage, says at least TWO officers were hit. The attorney general has already declined to charge the officer. Little Kohen Wiley should be alive today. The person behind the wheel made that choice, not the police.

Huh. That complicates matters. Maybe the driver should have learned from that Venezuelan national not to try to ram your way out of a law enforcement stop with your 5-year-old in the backseat.

Here's another angle from a security camera.

Is that her?

I completely agree that there needs to be accountability in this case. I just disagree with Tlaib on who should be held accountable. Criminals, stop trying to run down law enforcement with your vehicles, and Democrats, stop siding with the criminals who try to run down law enforcement with their vehicles.

Just last month, Tlaib claimed ICE had killed another man. "ICE pursued him in an unmarked car, causing a fatal car crash," she posted. Actually, ICE called off the pursuit of illegal alien Mario David Coronado Juarez in the interest of public safety. They estimated Juarez was traveling at about 100 mph when he wrapped his car around a tree and it caught on fire. Tlaib's reaction? "These killings have to stop. #AbolishICE."

I trust body cameras over anything Tlaib posts.
