Welcome, VIPs, to another trip across the Atlantic. Today, I'd like to talk about Piddington. Piddington is a tiny village in Oxfordshire with 350 residents that just wants to be left alone. However, the British government has other plans. It plans to dump more than 1,200 male "asylum-seekers" from Muslim countries on a military base right outside the village. The "extreme far-right" residents of Piddington aren't too keen on having their village overwhelmed with migrants. They've made noise about it before, but now they've taken a vote to become independent of the U.K. They want to be known as the Principality of Paddington.
Obviously, it's all symbolic, and there's nothing they can do about their new neighbors. Still, out of 312 votes cast, 285 voted to leave.
The BBC reports:
Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he understood the village's "strength of feeling" but there needed to be fairness across the country.
"The only thing to do is to get the numbers down, the number of crossings down," he said. "And they are significantly down. They are now at a seven-year low.
"We also made a commitment to people to end the use of hotels to house refugees and asylum seekers, and that commitment needs to be honoured, and I think the vast majority of people say 'yeah, that really does need to proceed'.
"So this involves difficult decisions. It's about fairness across the country. I'm not saying that only one part of the country or one group of communities should do all of the work."
Oh, no more migrant hotels? That's good, because those were a target of those extreme right-wingers.
Women in particular aren't fans of 1,200 Muslim men being dumped on their village:
The women of Piddington have released a video. They are speaking out in a heartfelt and passionate video.

This is a tiny historic English village. 350 people. And they are being told thousands of unknown men could be placed on their doorstep men they don’t know, who can come and…
The post continues:
… go as they please and that out number the villagers a massive 10-1.
They are frightened. They asked the women in Parliament to stand up for them. So far, silence but what do you expect from Labour and Liberals.
Stand with the women of Piddington and show them you are fully behind them.
Don’t let them be forgotten.
WE ARE ALL THE PEOPLE OF PIDDINGTON NOW!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
BBC Newsnight managed to find one of the 26 people to vote no and gave her a spotlight:
"It's really upsetting - it's always been the most amazingly peaceful place to live and we've never experienced the level of overt racism that we’re witnessing"

Yes, another member of the "Stand Up to Racism Crowd," made up of the suicidally empathetic.
Rachel is more worried about what people think of her than the safety of women and girls. Maybe she should be left to see the result of those lovely men on her doorstep.

"It's always been the most amazingly peaceful and kind and tolerant place to live, and I'm completely incapable of making the link between that and the fact that it's 96% white with zero Muslims"

Can someone ask Rachel from @PiddingtonNews why she immigrated and settled in a very white, English area, if she wanted diversity?

The lengths you must have gone to find the one person to suit your narrative. Almost every other news outlet shows the women of the village worried and angry about the migrants, but no, you managed to find the Lib Dumb so your echo chamber continues to echo.

Her town of Piddington is about to be overwhelmed by military-age North Africans and the leftist woman is complaining about the right wing? Unbelievable. Bring on the Somali apocalypse.

Ah the BBC doing what the BBC does

Find one person out of hundreds who will push their moronic divisive extreme language , anti British un intellectual nonsense
Just like American media.
So neither Rachel nor her husband are British? And she's worried about the Patriot Platform and being othered? My god, she reeks of suicidal empathy. The type that will destroy us all.

Hopefully, the 1,200+ Muslim newcomers have all read the "don't rape women and children" booklet handed out by the Home Office.
