It’s March, and that means it’s time once again for Comfortably Smug’s annual Liberal Hack Madness tournament. If you’re new to the tournament, know that Jennifer Rubin took the prize last year and the year before, unseating Brian Stelter who took the prize in 2020. Can anyone unseat Rubin?

BEN COLLINS WINNER CALLING IT
— John (@John_Faker) March 14, 2023
Taylor and Ben were on fire this season so Jen won’t pull off the 3-peat. 😢

No Stelter?
Poor potato. The bracket looks so weird without him.
— Calamity Jen (@realjenx) March 14, 2023
Stelter’s absense foreshadowed NC not making the basketball tournament. He’s a hack blueblood who you just expect will be there.

Kessler v Olbermann is a fascinating matchup. Neither will win it all, but the winner of that game may reveal the mood of the voters & thus important clues for how other close games will turn out.

No way is Wallace an 8 seed. 2 or 3 seed minimum . Selection committee needs reworked. Scully, Smerconish, and Coates must be picking the seeds.

Max Boot as a 12?! The committee is supposed to respect scheduling road games 🇺🇦
— Matt (@M_bod2) March 14, 2023
A lot of value in Elie Mystal as an 11 seed. That's my cinderella pick.
— Odd-Man Hypothesis (@OddMan59903018) March 14, 2023
Wow Acosta fell all the way down to a 10th seed.
— JMilardo (@Juice0618) March 14, 2023
Sykes and Kristol at 14 and 11 seeds lol. Love it. They should be in the play-in against each other.

Will anyone take down the juggernaut defending champ, the UCLA of #HackMadness, Jennifer “Almira Gulch” Rubin?
I believe in you, Molly Jong-Fast!

Is don lemon past his prime? The 1 seed would seem to indicate a resounding no.
— SBONDetroit (@SBONDetroit) March 14, 2023
Calling a Keith Olbermann upset over Rubin.
— Wheresyourcape? (@wheresyourcape) March 14, 2023
Wajahat Ali at #15 can be a cinderella seed, any other year he’d be in contention for the final 4, thats a value pick.

Next to Christmas morning, the annual Liberal Hack tournament just might be my favorite event of the year!

It’s pretty awesome. And it’s telling how many “conservatives” have found a place in the Liberal Hack tournament. WaPo’s “conservative columnist” Jennifer Rubin is the reigning champion, but the New York Times’ new “conservative” columnist, David French, brings a lot to the table.
