Professor who calls to #BringBackMasks hit with hateful transphobic or ableist comments

Dr. Sho Jacobs, an associate professor of biology, went to a party the other night and decided to share with Twitter how they reduced their risk of contracting COVID-19. It seems to us that anyone that worried about catching or spreading COVID wouldn’t have a party … why take the risk of gathering in a room? Well, they reduced their risks by wearing masks, because we’ve all heard about the studies about masks and COVID transmission.

I went to a party last night.
Here's how we reduced the #COVID19 risk:

I find it amazing you’re so concerned about the long term risks of COVID, yet seem to have zero concern for what the long term effects of the vaccines you took might be?

As far as evidence based science, Cochrane did a meta review of all RCT studies re masks. They are useless

Why not post the evidence here so everyone can read it? You claim to be a learned person but don't get that posting the evidence here would be more effective than just posting your beliefs. Most readily available masks are about as effective as covering your face when you sneeze!

It is really important that as a person who is really worried about your health, you do what makes you safe and comfortable. The virus is still out there. However, for most healthy people, this is over. Forcing them to live in fear is wrong and unscientific.

Why not wear two masks, like the president himself was doing for a while there? Two masks are better than one.
