Oh, you Republicans and your conspiracy theories. Sen. Rand Paul will not let go of the theory that COVID-19 came from a lab in China that was partially funded by U.S. tax dollars. Dr. Anthony Fauci announced in August that he’d be stepping down from all of his positions in December “to pursue the next chapter of my career.” Paul let him know then that he wasn’t just going to walk away.
Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic. He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak.

It looks very likely that Republicans will take back the House and perhaps the Senate as well, and Paul has said that when he returns to the Senate in January, he will “subpoena every last document of Dr. Fauci.”

As we write this post, “Kentuckians” is trending on Twitter. A lot of people who don’t live in Kentucky can’t believe they keep electing this guy — just like a lot of people who don’t live in Florida can’t believe what’s happening in Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has been re-elected by a wide margin, has said that “someone needs to grab that little elf [Fauci] and chuck him across the Potomac” — that person might be Rand Paul.
