As Twitchy reported, President Joe Biden on Thursday emerged from isolation to a lectern set up on the balcony to spread the word that Americans were poised to save hundreds of dollars a year on energy bills thanks to the Schumer-Manchin Inflation Reduction Act. In case anyone missed his video, Biden also put out a tweet crowing about the savings families will see.
When we pass the Inflation Reduction Act, working families will get rebates to buy efficient appliances and weatherize their homes. And folks will have tax credits for efficient heating and cooling and rooftop solar.
Families will see their energy bills drop by the hundreds.

Folks will have tax credits for rooftop solar. And they’ll all have ditched their gas-powered vehicles for electric cars. This is that “transition” everyone in the administration keeps talking about.
Except working families can't afford homes anymore. But never mind. Soldier on.

What about families that can’t afford home ownership?
— Aaron Donogh (@npcaaron) August 5, 2022
No one can afford weatherization projects. This high inflation has forced many home owners to decide between gasoline and necessities. Lots are unable to make their mortgage payments because food and fuel price increases are 2 to 3 times higher than than the inflation rate

Tax credits only work for those that have money

Perfect, my landlord will get a discount but still raise the rent.

Got to get me some of those Chinese made solar panels.

You're giving rebates to rich people.
I don't own a home, I can't afford to buy a home, and I can't get any of these "credits."
Meanwhile, my gas bill DOUBLED last winter. I can't afford it. What will it be this winter? TRIPLE?
You don't know what you're doing.

Rebates and incentives on products that most Americans can't even afford to buy 🙄

To get the energy bill back to hopefully where it once was:
Solar $10,000
Heat pump system $25,000
House battery system $20,000
Electric car $45,000
Replace inefficient appliances $5,000$105,000 and rising fast due to inflation

It's hilarious you think working families can own their own homes to do weatherization and rooftop solar.
Might as well talk about the joy of private jets and avoiding TSA pat downs while you're at it.

Rebates? From whom? The govt? Where does that money come from? Who qualifies? What are the limits? What about those who do not own their own home or are already struggling or can’t afford the new appliances to qualify for the rebate?
— Mr. Jason (@mrjasonrs) August 5, 2022
You really expect anyone to believe that? When can I expect a free $50,000 solar system on my home?
— James Selman (@selman_james) August 5, 2022
That'll be great for the people who can actually afford to still have a home… And a family… And food… Is it possible to live in the country he keeps talking about instead of the one he keeps building?! 🤷🤦😵
